Julie Arch Photography

I am a Professional Portrait and Wedding Photographer based in Southwest Michigan.

My interest in photography began in junior high when I attended a darkroom printing class. Before I ever picked up a camera I was hooked. I took fine art photography classes in High School and College, but really found my passion when I started working for a studio portrait photographer. This is what I had been searching for - People! I began to photograph all of my friends and when I ran out of willing participants I realized it was time to furthur my education. I moved to Atlanta, Georgia to study commercial photography at The Portfolio Center, a well known advertising school. I graduated with a portfolio specializing in fashion and portrait photography. With my degree under my belt, I headed to New York City where I was a photo assistant, studio manager and freelance photographer shooting models and actors. I eventually moved back to Michigan and started my own photography business.

I feel lucky to have such a wonderful job. Photography, to me is my purpose in this life. Through my camera, the world is a much more magical and interesting place, time stands still and moments that would otherwise go unnoticed are captured as lifelong memories.
